DeMaskClass in America was established to ensure parents have the right to make decisions about their children’s health and whether their children should wear a mask in school.
Local and national officials across the country are violating the constitutional rights of American children by mandating masks be worn in school and attacking parents’ right to make informed health-care decisions for their children. Not only are local officials violating their constitutional rights, but they are also segregating schools in some districts by mandating only unvaccinated children wear masks, while other schools are removing children from class for not wearing a mask.
Science shows that the benefits of wearing a mask do NOT outweigh the risks. Studies show that children are not the main drivers of infection when it comes to COVID and mask mandates do not significantly increase transmission rates in schools with optional policies. In addition, some psychologists and educators believe that wearing a mask can impair facial processing and impact socialization and communication skills, making it particularly difficult for kids to read people’s emotions through masks.
Over 7 million students nationwide receive special education services under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), many are unable to wear a mask or get vaccinated due to underlying medical conditions. Mask mandates ARE clear violation of a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) children with disabilities are to receive in accordance with the IDEA Act.
There are over 48 million children in the U.S. in K-12. Together we can fight against Mask Mandates in Schools in the DeMask Class.
